Cooperation between Rosatom and Ethiopia in the peaceful use of nuclear energy began in 2019 with the signing of the first intergovernmental agreement. In 2023, the parties approved a cooperation roadmap and initiated preparatory work for the Nuclear Science and Technology Center project in Ethiopia. Throughout 2023 and 2024, both sides steadily advanced preparatory studies for the project. The newly signed Action Plan in 2025 marks the launch of a structured, outcome-driven stage, which includes conducting a comprehensive feasibility study for the nuclear power plant.
Russia continues to actively strengthen cooperation with all interested countries. Major international projects remain underway, with Rosatom and its divisions playing an active role in these efforts.
